The project roles which are available in a project are based on the Project template.
When NO project roles are assigned to tasks in the selected Project template:
- All 'Project leadership' roles and all 'Mandatory' project roles are listed.
When there are project roles assigned to tasks in the selected Project template:
- All 'Project leadership' roles and all 'Mandatory' project roles are listed.
- AND all unique project roles which are assigned to te tasks in the selected Project template.
Create new project
All project roles as mentioned above are shown when creating a new project. The mandatory project roles (setting per project role) are mandatory to fill in before the project can be created.
The resources assigned in the specific roles are automatically assigned to the project tasks based on this project role.

Contact your SyncForce Implementation Partner to make any adjustments to the project role settings if needed.
Assign/remove project role to/from project template task
- Go to customer.syncforce.com
- Go to the Project Manager
- Open 'Admin tools » Project types'
- Go to the specific project template, stage, task (no need to create a new project template revision for this)
- In the dropdownlist, select the project role which needs to work on this task. The project role will be added.
- When a project role needs to be removed, click the 'x' icon next to the project role.
Expand project
When a project is expanded, the stage(s) and tasks from the project template to which the project is expanded and which do not yet occur in the project, are added. If there are any project roles, based on these new tasks, these are added to the project team. New team members can be added to these project roles after the project is expanded.
