How to add YouTube videos as Digital asset to SyncForce?

A step by step approach on adding YouTube videos as Digital asset to SyncForce.

Your corporate / product videos which are available on YouTube can easily be added to SyncForce as digital asset. This Knowledge Base article explains step by step how to do so.

Prerequisite:

The digital asset type 'Video' needs to be available for you as a customer and this digital asset type needs to be language and/or country localized. Contact your SyncForce Implementation Partner if that's not yet the case.

  • Go to YouTube, to the video you would like to make available as digital asset.

  • Click on the 'Share' option and copy the URL.

  • Paste the YouTube URL in the text field, select the right quality (1080p is suggested), select 'MP4' as output and press 'Convert'.

  • The MP4 file is automatically downloaded to your Downloads folder on you computer.
  • Sign in to SyncForce, go to Manage Digital Assets and click on 'New digital asset' button top right.
  • Select digital asset type 'Video'
  • Upload the file, adjust the digital asset name if applicable, select File type and the Languages / Countries.
  • Press Save

  • Open the digital asset from the digital asset overview. See the digital asset thumbnail has been generated automatically as animated GIF.
  • Go to the 'Files' tab.
  • Click on the button 'Edit localization'.

  • Paste the YouTube URL in the 'Video URL' field.
  • Press Save.

  • Complete the digital asset by at least selecting the right brand(s), market(s) and releasing the digital asset for publication.
  • Go to the Media Library to view the new created digital asset. See the MP4 file and the YouTube URL.
