How can I deactivate or delete users in SyncForce?

Having too many (active) users in SyncForce and you want to do some cleaning? Want to delete a user and re-register it?

De-activating users

It can be the case that your SyncForce Licence allows a maximum number of users. In that case, you can deactivate users. For example users which have not signed in for a long period.

In the Manage Contacts & Users module » Users & Rights » Users section you can easily de-activate a user by clicking the "Deactivate" link at their name (see screenshot below). Similarly you can re-activate a user by clicking the "Activate" link that appears in the same location (when the user is de-activated).

Use the filters on top to filter on user group and management tools (all users with access to Manage Product Portfolio in a specific role for example). Or use the search to search on user full name and email address. Click on the column header 'Last logged in' to sort the users on the date they last logged in to SyncForce.

Alternatively you can change the Active/Inactive status on the tab "User account" when looking at a user's details as shown below.

If you know in advance when someone should not have access anymore to SyncForce you could set the "Until" date in the same location shown in the screenshot above. Do note that this will NOT automatically change the "Status" to "Inactive" once the date has passed, but it will have the same effect.

Deleting a user because created for the incorrect account (company)

When a user has been assigned to an incorrect account (company) in the user registration process, this user needs to be created again in SyncForce. Delete the contact and re-create the user or ask the person to register again for SyncForce.

  • Sign in to [customer].syncforce.com
  • Go to Manage Contacts & Users
  • Go to the user details page
  • Bottom right, click on the 'Delete contact' button
  • Ask the person to register again for SyncForce or you can create the user yourself via:
    • For internal users:
      • Top right, click on the star icon and select 'New internal user'
      • Manage Contacts & Users » Own organization » New employee
    • For external users:
      • Manage Contacts & Users » Partners » Go to the account » New contact
