This page lists the codes and abbreviations used in SyncForce Circular PIM materials (presentations, diagrams, training, and documentation). Use it as a reference to translate shorthand into the full term and meaning.

DRU Deposit Return Unit A Disposal Unit that is intended to be returned via a deposit scheme. EPR context (Deposit)
DRS Deposit Return System The deposit scheme and operating system through which Deposit Return Units are returned and managed. EPR context (Deposit)
DU Disposal Unit A combination of Packaging Elements that is disposed of together (for example, a bottle disposed with labels attached). EPR context (disposal modelling)
GP Grouped Packaging Additional packaging used to bundle multiple ISUs into a GSU. Packaging role
GSU Grouped Sales Unit A commercial multi-pack created by bundling multiple ISUs with additional Grouped Packaging. Supply Chain Unit (SCU)
ISU Individual Sales Unit The sellable unit created by combining the Product with its Sales Packaging. Supply Chain Unit (SCU)
MPS Master Packaging System The unique combination of Packaging Masters that defines a packaging system configuration. Packaging system modelling
PAU Packaging Assembly Unit A specific assembled/finished packaging variant (often decoration or print specific) based on a Packaging Master. Example: decorated label variant based on a white-label PM
PE Packaging Element An individual packaging component that can be combined into larger packaging constructs such as a DU or SCU level. Packaging structure modelling
PM Packaging Master A technical packaging element template that can have multiple PAUs derived from it. Example: “white label with dieline” as the base PM
SCH Supply Chain Hierarchy The full hierarchy setup from the highest SCU downwards, including packaging elements at each level (for example Pallet TSU, Case TSU, GSU, ISU plus PEs). Portfolio and packaging modelling
SCU Supply Chain Unit The group term for units handled through the supply chain, covering ISU, GSU, and TSU (for example ISU in retail store, TSU in distribution centre). Grouping concept for ISU/GSU/TSU
SLC Supply Life Cycle Tracks the physical existence stages of a Supply Chain Unit. Triple Life Cycle terminology
SP Sales Packaging Packaging components required to create the smallest sellable unit (the ISU). Packaging role
TAU Throw Away Unit A Disposal Unit that is intended to be discarded (not returned via a deposit scheme). EPR context (non-deposit disposal)
TLC Trade Life Cycle Tracks the commercial availability stages of a Sales Unit per market or channel. Triple Life Cycle terminology
TP Transport Packaging Additional packaging used to create a TSU for shipping and storage. Packaging role
TSU Transport Stock Unit A logistics unit created by combining multiple ISUs and/or GSUs with additional Transport Packaging. Supply Chain Unit (SCU)
