Sometimes you have the need for a permanent file link. Read about the options in SyncForce.
SyncForce offers two types of permanent links as described below.
Link to the ContentHub
This link is available in the REST API and is for internal use only, like websites. The purpose is to download the files to a CMS, not for a setup for live content serving. When clicking on the link, the file will always be downloaded. This is because the 'Content-Disposition' Header is set to 'attachment', this will not be set to 'inline'.
Digital asset files are sent to the ContentHub when:
- The digital asset file type has a BREF
- The digital asset subtype has a BREF
- The digital asset role in which the digital asset is linked to a product has a BREF
Link in digital asset localization
All files in digital asset localizations get a share link (see share button marked in red in screenshot below). This is not available for digital asset files NOT linked to localizations (so for images for example). These links are to be used in teams, for example with agencies. It's easy to share and it is not needed to have the digital asset linked to a product. Not for a setup for live content serving.
